About EMRJJ

EMRJJ was founded in Barbados in 2022 by Attorney-at-Law, Nikeh M. C. Jemmott.

It is one of the few Intellectual Property (IP) specialist law firms in Barbados.

At EMRJJ, we are client-focused. We listen to each client’s unique needs, challenges, and objectives and devise and develop a legal strategy tailored to their interests.

We are business-minded. We navigate and support entrepreneurs, business owners, board directors and executives, micro to small to medium enterprises, and large corporations from concept to commercialisation to enterprise. We meet clients at any juncture of their business trajectory advising and assisting them on diverse corporate, commercial, proprietary, and regulatory matters, applying an interdisciplinary approach. We help clients manage costs by getting it right the first time and avoiding unwanted statutory penalties.

We also look at clients’ existing and potential IP rights and assets. We not only help clients protect their IP rights and proprietary interests; we do more.  We guide and support clients in identifying and securing IP ownership as a pathway toward maximising their business’s profits through additional streams of revenue, whether domestically or in external markets.

Our day-to-day operations additionally cover advising clients in connection with employment and labour matters, real estate purchases and leasing, Wills, probate, and succession matters.

From concept to commercialisation to enterprise, we provide legal advice tailored to our clients’ businesses and personal needs.

She has advised and represented clients in IP-related matters for nearly 15 years and collaborated on multi-jurisdictional teams in cross-border transactions, including mergers and acquisitions. Aside from IP, Nikeh's practice spans legal advice, support, and representation in business/corporate formation, preparation of share certificates, statutory registers, filing annual returns, and other corporate services post-formation, employment contracts, unfair dismissal and discrimination litigation, real estate acquisition and leasing, mortgages, Wills, probate, and succession matters. She adopts an interdisciplinary, pragmatic, and business-minded approach, considering, where applicable, any comparative and foreign law factors.

She possesses extensive law firm and in-house counsel experience, having worked as an Associate Attorney-at-Law with one of Barbados’ leading and oldest law firms and a multinational company in the ready-to-drinks and spirits industry.

Throughout her career, Nikeh has cultivated strong professional relationships and a vast network of contacts across the Caribbean, US, Canada, UK, and Ireland.
